Join Us for Roundup 2012
WHAT: Legendary annual gathering of Utah wilderness lovers in the San Rafael Swell
WHEN: Starts at 7 PM September 21 through morning of Sept 23
WHERE: Hidden Splendor Mine area
The Roundup offers SUWA members, activists and staff the opportunity to get to know each other while relaxing in the beautiful San Rafael Swell. Activities include a discussion of Utah wilderness issues with SUWA staff, a potluck dinner, evening music around the campfire, and—best of all—guided day-hikes in the Muddy Creek proposed wilderness (other activities TBA). Sunday morning you’ll awake to freshly brewed coffee and breakfast prepared by the SUWA staff in thanks for all your support and dedication.
If you plan to attend this year’s Roundup, here’s what you should bring: a potluck dish serving five people for Saturday evening (if you plan to eat with the group), your own food for Friday evening and Saturday breakfast, lunch, and snacks; camping gear; plenty of drinking water (1-2 gallons per person/day); eating utensils, plates, mugs, etc., folding chairs and whatever else you'd like. Feel free to bring your own musical instruments and favorite libations, too.
Please RSVP using the quick response form to the right or contact Diane Kelly at diane@suwa.org, (801) 428-3974.
DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS AND MAPS:
Important Note: Hidden Splendor is in a remote area accessible only by dirt roads. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, though not necessarily essential. Please be prepared for a wide variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain. Also bring plenty of drinking water and a spare tire.
