Please sign Senator Durbin's letter opposing controversial leasing of public lands

Dear [Decision Maker],

In the waning days of the Trump administration, more than 500 Utah oil and gas leases remain outstanding at the Bureau of Land Management because the agency failed to consider the implications for the Climate Crisis before issuing them. There is a good chance the Trump administration may try to paper over this fact and shove the leases through anyway, exacerbating the Climate Crisis and the more than 20 percent of U.S. carbon emissions that emanate from public lands. Hundreds of these leases would be developed in lands that are proposed as wilderness in America's Red Rock Wilderness Act.

Sen. Dick Durbin is leading a sign-on letter opposing these leases in an attempt to halt them permanently. Will you please sign the letter?

Sen. Durbin's letter is closing at the end of this week -- by Dec. 19th. Please sign it and defend these wild lands for your constituents and Americans around the country who love Utah's redrock country.

Sincerely,
